Until October 2025 we were known as Prima Additive by Sodick, a company born in Italy with the mission of making metal additive manufacturing more industrial, scalable, and competitive. After the acquisition by Sodick Co., Ltd. in May 2025, we embraced a broader vision and, now, a new identity.
Who we are
AltForm stands for Advanced Laser Technologies for Manufacturing. Our new name reflects our evolution: from our roots in metal additive manufacturing with Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (DED), we now also develop advanced laser processes such as remote laser welding and laser hardening.
Our focus remains unchanged: enabling industries worldwide to move beyond prototyping and bring laser-based manufacturing technologies into true industrial production.
