AltForm officially became a member of EFFRA, the European Factories of the Future Research Association, in April 2026. The membership was announced during the EFFRA General Assembly held in Brussels on April 14 and 15, 2026.
About EFFRA
EFFRA is a non-profit, industry-driven association that fosters the development of the latest innovations in manufacturing technology across the European continent.
It is the voice of Europe’s manufacturing community and officially represents the private side of the Made in Europe Partnership with the European Commission, a manufacturing partnership under the Framework Programme Horizon Europe (2021-2027) aimed at boosting European manufacturing ecosystems towards global leadership in technology, circular industries, and flexibility.
A long track record in collaborative research
For AltForm, joining EFFRA is a natural extension of a research culture that has been central to the company since its origins. Over the past decade, AltForm has been an active participant in numerous national, European, and international research and innovation projects, working alongside universities, research institutions, and industrial partners to develop and validate advanced laser and additive manufacturing technologies for production environments.
This commitment to open innovation has shaped how AltForm approaches product development: not in isolation, but in dialogue with the broader manufacturing research community. Funded projects have contributed, for example, to advances in Powder Bed Fusion process control, Direct Energy Deposition for reactive materials, and the integration of AI-powered software in industrial manufacturing workflows.
Contributing to the future of European manufacturing
EFFRA membership gives AltForm a seat at the table where the European manufacturing research agenda is defined. As a technology developer operating at the intersection of advanced laser technologies, metal additive manufacturing, and industrial automation, AltForm intends to contribute actively to the association’s working groups and collaborative initiatives.
The Made in Europe Partnership represents a shared ambition: a European manufacturing industry that leads globally on technology, sustainability, and resilience. AltForm’s work on scalable metal AM systems, DED platforms for large-scale component production, and AI-integrated production software is directly aligned with this direction.
We look forward to contributing to this community and to the conversations that will shape the next generation of European manufacturing technology.
