October is a busy month for manufacturing.

Two of the industry’s most important shows take place within two weeks of each other, on opposite sides of the world. AltForm will be at both.

First Milan, then Tokyo. BI-MU 2026 at Fieramilano Rho, followed by JIMTOF 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight. Two events with different characters and different audiences, both relevant to where metal additive manufacturing is headed.

BI-MU 2026,
Milan: October 13-16

BI-MU is Italy’s reference exhibition for machine tools, robotics, automation, and digital manufacturing. The 35th edition, running from October 13 to 16 at Fieramilano Rho, marks a significant milestone: 70 years of a show that has tracked the evolution of Italian and European industrial manufacturing since 1956. Organized by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, BI-MU brings together manufacturers, system integrators, and industrial buyers from across the continent every two years.

AltForm is present at the stand of 3DZ, our Italian partner and one of Europe’s leading distributors of additive and industrial 3D printing technologies. Stand C37, Hall 24.

On the floor: the Print Sharp 200, our single-laser Powder Bed Fusion system. Compact, precise, and built for the transition from development to production. An accessible entry point into industrial metal AM for manufacturers evaluating the technology seriously.

BI-MU is a show where Italian and European manufacturers come to evaluate technology, not just observe it. It is the right context for a conversation about what metal additive manufacturing actually requires in a production environment, and what it delivers.

JIMTOF 2026,
Tokyo: October 26-31

Two weeks later, we are in Tokyo.

JIMTOF, the Japan International Machine Tool Fair, is one of the most significant manufacturing exhibitions in the world. The 33rd edition, taking place October 26 to 31 at Tokyo Big Sight, brings together over 940 exhibitors and thousands of professionals from across the global manufacturing industry. The show covers the full spectrum of production technology, from machine tools and precision instruments to automation, software, and additive manufacturing.

We will be at Booth E2017, at the stand of Sodick. AltForm and Sodick are both part of the Sodick Group, which makes this presence particularly meaningful: our technology on the floor of one of the world’s premier manufacturing shows, in the home country of the group we belong to.

The machine on show is the Print Sharp 200, in its Japanese edition. In Japan, the AltForm identity goes green: the machine at Sodick’s booth carries green accents rather than the orange of the standard livery. A small detail, but one that reflects something real about how we approach different markets: with a presence that is genuinely local, not just a translation.

The same technology, two conversations

Bringing the same machine to Milan and Tokyo in the same month is not a coincidence. The Print Sharp 200 is the system that best represents where AltForm sits in the market: capable enough for serious industrial applications, accessible enough for manufacturers who are making the step from conventional production to metal AM for the first time.

The conversations at BI-MU and JIMTOF will be different. The industries, the applications, the questions people ask. But the underlying challenge is the same in every market: how do you take a technology that works in a lab and make it work reliably on the production floor? That is the conversation we are there to have.
